In case of Diamond pattern, the tiles are installed at 45 degree diagonal. In Brickwork pattern each row is altered with the previous row similar to brick pattern. This pattern holds good for rectangular tiles as well.
Rectangular tile patterns are also known to give several models. The most common pattern in rectangular tiles is Basket weave. In this pattern two tiles are placed horizontally on top of one another. This result in a square when followed by two tiles placed vertically near the previous arrangement. Herringbone uses square tiles as well as rectangular tiles where both these tiles are placed randomly in an interchanging fashion. This is rather a complex pattern when compared to Basket weave pattern. A variation is herringbone pattern is placing the rectangle tiles in a diagonal fashion and this result in Diagonal Herringbone. When a square tile is alternately placed with a rectangular tile then it results in ribbon pattern. When four rectangular tiles are used to cover a single square tile, then it results in Pinwheel pattern.
